Spinning!

So I’m trying to get back to real life over here. I’m also trying to spin more. It’s like I can either spin or knit on any given evening, but not both. I borrowed a wheel from work, a Louet S-75 I think. It’s nice, smooth, but on the whole I prefer my joy, I have more options on the joy. I also am not down with plastic parts. I’m trying to spin on as many wheels as I can get my hands on. Just for the experiance. I need to try out some Kromski wheels. This means either I wait until Maryland (Can’t Wait!) or drive 5 hours across PA to The Mannings. I’m thinking my second wheel will be the Kromski Prelude. I’m tempted to just order one, but I must. be. patient. grrrr.

My favourite thing about this Louet has to be the height of the flyer. If you’ve ever seen the Joy, it’s short and compacts easily for travel, this means alot of hunching over, even though I try to have good posture, 25 years of slouchiness will to that to you. Sorry Mom. oh, and also, I like the ginormous bobbins. The Joy bobbins are teeny by comparison.

I’m spinning some roving that looks alot like lint, the tweedy effect will be so cool! I’m saving this skein for socks!
