Holy cow! This post was going to be about the yarn I spun for my 2000th customer, and about today’s update. However, by the time I finished putting all the yarn up, it had all but sold out! You guys rock. You really do. No worries though, I am dyeing more as we speak.
So instead, you’ll have to settle for photos of some seriously drool worthy handpun. A minute or five ago, I announced that my shop was fast approaching it’s 2000th order, and soon after, it did. 2000 orders is a big deal. As big as the first 1000. So to mark the occasion, I said to that customer would go custom handspun sock-ish weight yarn. I am happy to finally, officially announce that my 2000th customer is Knittymuggins Maryanne. She got some great photos, that really show off the color, so do click over and say hi.
I simply asked her her fav colors, and got to work, dyeing a medly of pinks and oranges and reds. It’s always cool to see how my initial dyeing takes new shape when I spin it.
I dyed for pinks, and in spinning, the oranges quickly took over. I split and spun the singles So I would get sections of same colors to ply up, but also to have sections where the color would barber pole. I ending up dyeing about 6oz for her, which if I remember right spun up to be around 400 yards. I wish you could all pet it, because it is so. very. soft.
That is so beautiful…she is a lucky girl. Of course I have my October Sky roving and I’m taking a spinning lesson in two weeks, so hopefully I’ll have some awesome handspun to show for it soon.
That’s how I’m going to spin my SW roving. It looks fabulous!!
Ooh! That is gorgeous!
Wow! It is absolutely gorgeous! Congrats on all the sales today! 🙂
That is a beautiful yarn! In other news, I finished my handspun sweater out of the Plum Posy stuff that you dyed for me! I’ll try to gets some pics of it soon – it looks awesome.
