Vortex

People! Somebody pour me a frozen blended beverage and put an umbrella in it! I am stranded on feather and fan island! If you thought sleeve island was bad, I’ll trade you. I’m knitting a cute little shrug number, this one, from Knitpicks. Go get it! It’s a free download. I am this close, to being done. A few more rows of the ol’ f & f, and I can bind off the sash. This has been a very fun knit. This is the one I’m knitting out of Noro Lily.

Here’s the deal with this sash thing, you knit it in 2 pieces, to be joined at the back, so the feather and fan runs in the same direction. Someone was thinking over there. That’s 2 pieces, 26 inches long each. That’s alot of feather and fan. So I’m knitting the 2 pieces at the same time, like you would 2 sleeves. It’s chugging along, but I’m experiancing that phenomena, you know, knit a million rows, gain a quarter inch? Yup. Can’t. seem. to get. there.

I am loving knitting with the Lily. 50 silk, 50 cotton, drapes like a dream. Perfect to show off the feather and fan. Careful, though, I blocked the other pieces, and the water was very bright pink. Lots of dye runoff. I’ve never dyed a plant fiber/protein fiber blend myself, but I’m guessing whatever dye they used was more suited for one, than the other.

Love this stuff!

…and The Shop has been restocked!

I really like that pattern–I’ve stared at it and stared at it and wondered if it would look good on someone of my build or not.

And criminy! When did you open that new shop??? I must have been asleep at the switch to have missed an event like that. Or on vacation… oh yeah, that’s right. 😉

That color is stunning. In fact the whole gestalt is stunning, as other commenters have already pointed out. I am not a big fan of shrugs, but maybe I need to knit some more f&f socks…

Yes, you are very good at capturing texture with your camera. It also helps that the colors and textures are amazing. Very nice.
