Double Skinny Tall No Whip Caramel Mocha

That is what the guy behind me at Starbucks ordered yesterday morning. That just fuckin cracks me up. I got outta there real fast and practically ran to work to write that one down. I thought I’d share.

These, people, are my finished Sockapal Socks. I am so happy I finished these babies. I wasn’t worried, but it’s like, okay, cool, 2 months to knit a pair of socks, no prob! I can do that with my eyes shut.
Then. Then, it’s WHAT? I only have 3 weeks to finish the 2nd sock!?! There’s no way! Oh, crap, I’ll be the only loser to not have socks to mail to my pal, 3 weeks, How did this happen!! What am I going to do?! I had 2 months!
Then you’re done and it’s all good, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. Phew. What? You want photos? Sure!!

Want me to model them? Why not!

I took these at work today, can you tell? If you want people to really look at you sideways, try taking pictures of your own feet. Not so easy. Yeah. I was trying to hold the camera at a slight angel, so the shot wasn’t all floor, while holding a mirror behind the camera, so I could see the LCD sceen, so I could line my feet up properly, while trying my very best not to fall over. I didn’t.

Then I started a new pair! Now, I rarely, rarely keep my yarn for myself, I’m always tempted, but I restain. SweetWater though, I needed to knit with that color. I think I lurve it. I’m also knitting it with DPN’s instead of my usual magic loop. Just wanted to change it up.

That’s the Turkish cast on from VK fall 2005. I love this cast on. So neat. This is totally the way to go when knitting toe up. I know there’s also the figure 8 cast on, but having never done it, I can’t offer any thoughts on it. If you do this cast on with it, and short row heel, no kitchenering. Bonus! Even though I afterthought heel, and kitchener anyways….

So tomorrow, I will update Etsy, at around 2:30-3pm. Eastern Standard time. Packages will go out in Mondays’ mail, if there’s mail this Monday, I think there is. Then I’ll be dyeing this weekend, so maybe I’ll do another shop update in a week and a half or so. I’ll keep you updated here.

The Sock Pal socks turned out great! I love the colors in the Sweetwater socks, too.

Listening to what people order at coffeeshops always cracks me up.

I’m totally in love with the Sweetwater, knits up nicely.

I like your sockapaloooza socks too. I finished mine last week and I was feeling the same way. Now I can just relax 🙂

I absolutely love your Sockapal socks. So pretty!

And if it makes you feel any better, I suffered from a HUGE bout of indecision, and just finally today got the dumb things properly on the needles (I did work on the picot top the last 2 days… and while I love the picots, actually knitting them is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in knitting). I think I’m in trouble. I am not a fast knitter.

Also… will you be offering your Smoke on the Water colorway tomorrow? I’m just wondering if I need to set aside the time to stalk your etsy shop 🙂

I love those Sockapalooza socks especially the pink heel and toe…they are going to a lucky someone!!!!

WOW! That Sweetwate sure knits up nicely. I “lurve” the colors too. Can’t wait to get my hands on some.

Did I see someone’s picture over at Yarn Harlot’s blog?!?! You are just as cute as I thought you would be being the “Queen of the Dyes” and all that.

Your socks look amazing, both the koigu ones and your own self striping ones. I sure do hope I’m your sock pal! The funniest drink order I have heard in person was “half-caf ha-tay”, and I guess a “ha-tay” is a hot-latte. The skinny double tall thing is cracking me up.

  6. Chris says:

Congrats on getting your sockpal socks done! Great colors.

I love how the Sweetwater is striping – there’s just something about wide stripes…

  7. Cara says:

  10. I usually stand dumbfounded staring at the menu, with a horribly confused look on my face! Asking a million times, which ones a large?? It knocks my vesper socks off when people order like that guy! I love Sheetz, touch screen menu with small medium and large!!
You have one super lucky sock-pal! I love the toes and the heels very nice : )
I applaud you, cause I would have fallen over and made a complete ass out of myself!
Love the sweetwater! Must resist! must resist….

Those socks are too cute! The heel never turns out the right colour when I try to change the heel colour. I think I don’t have the right pattern.
If we are talking about our favorite colourways mine has to be lady bee. I am dying to get my hands on some…PLEASE!
