Rhinebeck was the best time ever. I loved it. So many Knitters. The lobby of the hotel I stayed at, apparently the place to stay, was jam packed morning and night. The festival was great too, I think Autumn is the perfect time for a Sheep and Wool show. I even think I liked it better than Maryland. I just wish it was a little closer. 7 hours is a long ass drive. Upstate New York is gorgeous in the fall too.
Saturday the weather was absolutely perfect for wearing handknit sweaters. Nice and sunny, warm and a little bit on the crisp side. A bit of fibery goodness followed me home. I bought just enough, I didn’t go crazy at all. I bought more roving from Stefania, I love her roving.
This purpley stuff, and some more pink sparkley fluff followed me home. I also bought two niddy noddies, a wee, 6 inch little guy, and a bigger, 12 inch one I think.
And the best thing ever, the only thing I regret not buying Maryland, The Blue Moon Fiber Arts Eastern Luxury Collection. Five differant amazingly soft luxury fibers. From left to right, Yak, Baby Camel and Silk Top, Mongolian Cashmere Top, Mulberry Silk and Baby Camel Top.
I also finished the first Hello Yarn Sock on Saturday night, during the gigantic knit in in the hotel lobby. I’m really liking it, I did end up ripping it out and working a contrast toe and heel.
I’ll shows photos, mmm, later.
I bought some roving from Stefania too. Great colorways…
Hey, it was nice to meet you! After I saw your fiber tube I went to get one for myself but they were sold out! I’ll have to get one from their website.
Glad you enjoyed Rhinebeck — I liked it better than MDSW too, but I only went to NY last year, had to miss it this time. I’m so sad about that, but there’s always next year!
It really was a great hotel crowd. Your buys look well chosen, thoughtful and lush. I do like Rhinebeck better than Maryland. Despite the craziness, there was less craziness.
I’m looking forward to seeing how you spin up the tube rovings.
So great to meet you, Julia!! I bought a gorgeous green roving from Stefania. Plus, I learned a great tip from her — she uses a clothes pin to hold her spot between the spun single and the roving instead of twisting it around the wheel).
I missed you at the blogger meetup, wow. there was a ton of bloggers there!! Glad to hear you had a good time : )Love the roving that you picked up, great colors
As always, GREAT to see you! Sorry we didn’t get to hang more – but I’m glad you had such a good time. I have a lovely basket from Stefania that hangs on my wheel.
It was lovely to meet you, lady! You got some great stuff. That little niddy noddy is killing me!
It was so nice to see you again! And I’m really looking forward to your visit to Toronto.
Stefania’s booth did quite a bit of damage to my finances over the weekend. And because your pink sparkly stuff looked like so much fun at MDSW, I couldn’t resist going home with some blue sparkly stuff this time. I think I’ll spindle it. Maybe today. :o)
That luxury fiber box looks luscious.
I’m so jealous since I live out on the west coast. Its nice to live vicariously through you and your blog. It looks like it was lots of fun!
it was great meeting you! i wish I’d had more time to talk to people one on one (and find out where all the cool stuff was) – maybe we can hang out if you’re in TO!
Sounds like it was an amazing experience! That purpley stuff is purty.
It was great seeing you again, lady! I wish we could do it again, maybe for longer this time and maybe without so many people. Perhaps that way we wouldn’t have to rushrushrush and would enjoy it more. 🙂
When are you moving up? You know you can talk your boy into it. 😉
Ooohh! That luxury sample pack looks awesome!
I forgot to look for a tiny niddy noddy! The one you bought looks lovely!
